Terms of service
Terms of service
Effective date: February 1, 2026
These terms govern your use of the EpochTools website (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these terms.
The Service
EpochTools is a free, client-side tool for converting Unix / epoch timestamps and dates. All conversion logic runs in your browser; we provide the Service "as is" and "as available".
Acceptable use
- You may use the Service for any lawful purpose, including in commercial projects.
- You must not attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure.
- You must not use the Service to store or transmit unlawful content.
The API endpoint
The public conversion API (/api/convert)
is offered free of charge. We reserve the right to change, rate-limit or discontinue it at any time without notice.
Please keep request volumes reasonable; we may block clients that appear to be abusing the endpoint.
No warranties
The Service is provided without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Timestamp conversion is generally accurate, but you are responsible for verifying any data you rely on — especially in critical applications.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the Service.
Intellectual property
The Service's design, code and content are provided as an open source project under the MIT license. You may use, copy and modify the code, but the wordmark "EpochTools" and the site's visual identity remain our trademarks.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time and will post the updated terms on this page.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable where the Service operator is based. Any disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
